Our Story

Our Company

Established in 2009, Colourite Masterbatch is a specialist manufacturer and supplier of masterbatches, pigments and additives based in Johannesburg, South Africa. We supply high quality product for plastics manufacturing in a diverse range of industries including pharmaceuticals, medical, building & construction, agriculture, automotive, logistics, packaging, consumer goods, textile, cosmetics and coatings.

Our business has continued to grow over the past decade by establishing and cultivating strong business relationships with leading raw material suppliers, and customers who require tailored solutions to their specific colour requirements.

Meeting future demands, today

Our fully-equipped manufacturing facility, warehouse and accurate analytical devices ensure continuous quality control and consistency. Our management team work closely with you when developing solutions or overcoming challenges. In the early stages of product development, colour samples/chips are provided for matching. This is imperative for our long-term production processes to maintain quality and colour consistency.

We have also implemented and apply a quality management system which is in compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.

Unmatched technical expertise

We have the expertise and capacity to accurately formulate, test, develop and manufacture for a wide range of applications. This includes but is not limited to, injection moulding, extrusion moulding, blown film and lamination, blow moulding, calendaring, sheet extrusion, pelletizing, tubing, pipe extrusion and woven polypropylene. Our products have the properties of bright appearance, good dispersion, strong tension, and environmental protection.

Solving your colour challenges

Each time we approach a new project we develop a tailor made solution that is not only accurate, but also cost effective and efficient, with the ability to match thousands of colours including black masterbatches, white masterbatches, colour masterbatches and special effect masterbatches.

Our functional additives and filler masterbatches are used in specific applications for cost-lowering or to enhance functional properties and performance of polymer based products.

Smart Vivid Colour

We are happy to adjust the colour of our masterbatch to match your specific requirements on request. Based on a sample we are able to develop exact colour and shades.

Our technical team can assist with industry specific product knowledge to develop the ideal formula for your product. This includes dosage and production recommendations to optimise costs and streamline processes.

We currently use a desktop data colour spectrophotometer to measure and evaluate colours. This ensures colour accuracy and consistency for every batch. We work to CMC, L A B or CIE2000 values depending on your requirements.

World Class Equipment

We currently utilise Italian Bandera and German Amut extruders. We have from 25 to 90 mm single screw extruders.

Measuring & Evaluating Colour

We currently use a desktop data colour spectrophotometer to measure and evaluate colours. This ensures colour accuracy and consistency for every batch. We work to CMC, L A B or CIE2000 values depending on your requirements.
